PULMONARY SURFACTANT FORMULATIONS AND METHODS FOR PROMOTING MUCUS CLEARANCE

Methods and compositions to enhance mucus clearance and to treat of pulmo nary lung disorders such as cystic fibrosis are disclosed. The methods utili ze pulmonary surfactants, alone or combined with hyperosmotic agents, admini stered to patients in an amount effective to enhance mucus clearance. The co mpositions comprise a pulmonary surfactant combined with an osmotically acti ve agent.
