An inductor is provided to conduct a coil and a substrate in a surface-mounted state of the inductor on the substrate by including a conductible terminal member and connecting a terminal of the coil to the terminal member. An inductor includes a coil(30) and a core(20) and is mounted on a substrate. The coil is wound around the core. A conductive terminal member(40) is fixed to an outer circumferential unit of the core. An end(30a) of the coil is connected at a higher position than a lower surface(23a) of the core in the terminal member. A shape of a part of the terminal member is formed according to a shape of the outer circumferential unit of the core. The core includes a wind unit and a flange unit. The wind unit is wound by the coil. The flange unit is formed on at least one end of the wind unit and has a wider cross sectional area than the area of the wind unit.
