The device has an imaging device (35) for generating images as a sequence of lines. A beam generation device (20) generates projection light beam (21) and modulates the intensity of the projection light beam corresponding to the lines, which are to be projected. A deflecting device (22) harmoniously swings around a axis (25), and another deflecting device (23) implements a forced vibration around another axis (26). The forced vibration exhibits two separate half vibrations in respective directions, where the angular speeds of the half vibrations are same and constant. An independent claim is also included for an imaging method by using a projection light beam.
