<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus properly making image reading control or conveyance control of a manuscript in conveyance, by taking out data information corresponding to the manuscript in conveyance from a plurality of pieces of data information yielded by reading one time a bundle of manuscripts on a manuscript base, and based on the data information. <P>SOLUTION: Data information read one time by RFID readers 30, 31 from RFID tags 90, 91 of each manuscript of a manuscript bundle S, is held in a storage region Ma of a RAM 802, in the state where the manuscript bundle S is placed on a manuscript tray 20. After starting conveyance of the manuscript, the data information read one time by the RFID readers 30, 31 is held in a storage region Mb of the RAM 802. The data information held in the storage region Ma and the data information held in the storage region Mb are compared to specify the data information, of the manuscripts started in conveyance.
