A headrest moving mechanism (10) comprises link members (12, 12) for linking a support part (4A) to a headrest base part (4C) and elongated holes (11H, 11H) formed in the headrest base part (4C). The elongated holes (11H, 11H) serve to position the attitude of the support part (4A) by allowing a connection shaft (13A) fitted to the support part (4A) to be slidably engaged therewith. The elongated holes (11H, 11H) are so formed in a guide shape as to move the support part (4A) from the initial position at the time before the collision of a vehicle occurs to a collision corresponding position at the time when it is moved forward and upward relative to the headrest base part (4C) in linkage with the rotational movement of the link members (12, 12).
