PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating a microorganism from a sample by the utilization of an ion exchange reaction and a microorganism-confining means, to provide a container for pre-treating a microorganism sample, and to provide an apparatus for separating the microorganism.

SOLUTION: This method for separating the microorganism from the sample comprises a step for contacting the sample containing the microorganism with an inorganic ion exchange substance to react the sample with the inorganic ion exchange substance, and a step for contacting the reacted sample with a microorganism-confining means.
