PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress destruction of management information for managing data when power source is disconnected during recording of data. SOLUTION: In a recording device, an initialization section 71 generates an empty file of size not less than the largest size assumed as a size of location data recorded on a location file prepared in a hard disk which has a data area for recording location data for each file, and a FAT (File Allocation Table) area which records a FAT entry which manages the location data as a location file of the location data.
