A method for preventing rollover of a 4WD(Wheel Drive) vehicle is provided to turn wheels to the inside of rear wheels if a lateral acceleration value is equal to or larger than rollover limit acceleration. A method for preventing rollover of a 4WD vehicle includes the steps of: sensing loads applied to suspensions with a load sensor to check whether front and rear wheels lifts off the ground; sensing lateral acceleration value with a lateral sensor if the wheels lift off the ground; keeping a front wheel proportional steering method, if the sensed lateral acceleration value is less than a rollover limit load or turning wheels to the inside of the rear wheels if the lateral acceleration value is equal to or larger than rollover limit acceleration; checking whether loads of the both wheels satisfy a proper load with a load sensor; and returning to the front wheel proportional method if the loads of the both wheels satisfy proper load.
