An exhaust purification system includes a high-pressure EGR passage (15) that connects an exhaust passage (19) upstream of a turbine (7) and an intake passage (9) downstream of a compressor (6), and a low-pressure EGR passage (23) that connects the exhaust passage (19) downstream of an exhaust purification device (32) provided downstream of the turbine (7) and the intake passage (9) upstream of the compressor (6). The system decreases the EGR gas amount during a regeneration process for a filter. Even after the filter regeneration process ends, the system decreases the EGR gas amount during a period that the temperature of EGR gas is above a predetermined reference temperature.
