A method for finishing a surface in a building is provided to improve noise-protecting and heat insulating effects in an eco-friendly manner, to ensure safety upon contact with the human body, and to remove bad odors and cement toxicity in an indoor environment. A method for finishing a surface, such as a wall or floor, in a building comprises the steps of: mixing and agitating 30-45 vol% of wood chips, 30-45 vol% of serpentine powder or jade stone powder and 10-25 vol% of a water soluble adhesive; mixing water with the wood chips so that the wood chips are impregnated with water; applying the wood chips onto the surface(10), such as a wall or floor, in a building; and naturally drying the resultant finishing layer(20) to allow evaporation of the water from the wood chips. |
