PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine with entertaining potentialities and a play method of it. SOLUTION: An array area where a plurality of symbols are arrayed and a selection area for displaying the symbols to be selected are provided at different parts of a display. A plurality of symbols to be selected are displayed in the selection area and a scatter symbol is set by a player out of the plurality of symbols to be selected. The symbols containing the scatter symbol are rearranged on the display. The player is awarded a dividend determined by the combination of the symbols rearranged on a pay line and additionally, awarded a dividend determined based on the scatter symbol rearranged on the pay line and on a line other than the pay line.
