A wet-type multiple disc clutch for an automatic transmission is provided to effectively prevent a disc from thermal damage and being broken due to rapid relative speed difference between a clutch plate rotating at a high speed and a stationary clutch disc. A wet-type multiple disc clutch for an automatic transmission comprises a clutch retainer(101), a clutch plate(102) coupled with the clutch retainer, a clutch disc(103), a hydraulic working chamber(105) and a clutch piston(106). The clutch disc is connected or disconnected with the clutch plate. The hydraulic working chamber is formed between the clutch retainer and the clutch piston. A piston retainer(108) installs a hydraulic balance chamber(107) between the piston retainer and the clutch piston. A return spring(109) is installed between the clutch piston and the piston retainer. The clutch piston is formed with an oil discharge hole(112) and the piston retainer is formed with an oil discharge hole(113).
