<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an external terminal device has to repeat an inquiry until a functional part for changing the setting information of an image forming apparatus reaches the state of starting in order to check whether a setting-information changing functional part of the image forming apparatus is in the state of starting in the image forming apparatus which can perform a writing of setting even in a power saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: The problem is solved by providing the functional part (SNMP control part) which changes the setting information for the image informing apparatus with the function capable of giving the answer of the time required for the starting to the inquiry from the external terminal device. Therefore, the processing of an application software on the external terminal device can be simplified. The burden of a network can be reduced by decreasing the number of times of MIB acquisition to the image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
