PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus in which design freedom of area gradation is greatly improved and numerical aperture is improved. SOLUTION: The display apparatus, in which a pixel is constituted of a plurality of subpixels of different areas and an image is displayed with the area gradation, has a pixel electrode constituting each subpixel among the plurality of subpixels, a data line for supplying a video signal to the pixel electrode, a shield electrode formed between the data line and the pixel electrode, a 1st insulating film formed between the data line and the shield electrode and a 2nd insulating film formed between the pixel electrode and the shield electrode. At least one pixel electrode has a shape of extending from one area divided by the data line to another area divided by the data line while striding over the data line. Further in an area where the pixel electrode strides over the data line, the shield electrode, the 1st insulating film and the 2nd insulating film are arranged between the pixel electrode and the data line by being superposed on the pixel electrode and the data line.
