A method for configuring a menu screen of a mobile terminal is provided to allow a user to recognize characteristics and content of multimedia to be reproduced by using only a menu screen. When an input signal requesting a multimedia menu screen is inputted through a key input unit, a controller allocates a designated region of a display unit(S210). When a user input signal is inputted through the key input unit, the controller configures a menu item in such a form that multimedia is combined to at least one menu at the designated region of the display unit(S220). The controller provides control to display the menu item on the designated display region of the display unit(S230).
