A front loading washing machine is provided to prevent environmental pollution by not draining a silver ion to the out side and to lower concentration of the silver-ion in water by plating the silver-ion to a periphery surface of a rotary tub before draining the water. A front loading washing machine comprises a body, a fixed tub, a rotary tub(5), a silver ion generating unit, and a plating unit(30). The silver ion generating unit is installed in the body, and adds the silver ion to the water. The plating unit is placed in the body, and reduces concentration of the silver ion in water by plating the silver ion to a periphery surface of the rotary tub right before draining the water. The plating unit has a first electrode(32), a second electrode(34), and a power unit(36). The power unit generates power and supplies the power to the first and the second electrodes. The first electrode is separated at predetermined distance form the rotary tub and applies positive voltages. The second electrode applies negative voltage to the periphery surface of the rotary tub which is made of a conductive material. |
