PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centering mechanism, capable of surely inserting a shaft into an insertion hole by bringing the center of axle of both the shaft and the insertion hole in line, and preventing excessive force acting between the shaft and the inner wall of the insertion hole, after inserting. SOLUTION: When inserting a shaft into insertion hole corresponding to the shaft, in the present centering mechanism bringing center of axle of both the shaft and the insertion hole in line, which is equipped with a first supporting means (3) for supporting a shaft (2) at a first support point and a second support means (3) for supporting the shaft (2) at a second support point prepared by spacing to the shaft orientations of shaft (2) relative to the first support point; the first supporting means (3) moves the first support point, followed by migration of the shaft (2) in a direction vertical to the shaft axis at the first supporting point, while the second supporting means (3) makes the second support point move, followed by migration of the shaft (2) in a direction vertical to the axis of shaft (2) at the second support point.
