PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety lid which enables a garbage crushing device to be operated or stopped while the lid is constantly attached to a garbage charging port of the garbage crushing device and which therefore is safe and can provide improved work efficiency. SOLUTION: The safety lid is a cylindrical body having the outside diameter dimension allowing the lid to be fitted to the garbage charging port of the garbage crushing device arranged on a bottom of a sink , the lid is provided with: a gripping plate by fingers mounted on an opening surface of a top of the cylindrical body; a drop hole formed therebelow; and a sensor means for detecting the fitting of the lid outer circumference and the garbage charging port and a start switch means for operating the garbage crushing device by the turn of the gripping plate in a predetermined angular range, both means being provided between the outer circumference of the cylindrical body and the garbage charging port.
