PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator cage in which electric equipment installed on-car can be stored in the ceiling of the cage from an upper part, and assembled and shipped, any flat configuration and wiring work in an upper part of the cage can be eliminated by performing the extra length wiring treatment in the ceiling during the installation, the installation and maintenance work can be simplified, and the safety can be ensured. SOLUTION: The elevator cage comprises a cage ceiling body 2 fixed to a peripheral edge of an upper end of a cage 1 with a recess 3 formed in an upper side, an inner ceiling member 8 having a U-shaped section which is stored in the recess of the cage ceiling body from its upper side while electric equipment 9 is placed on and fixed to its upper face, a wiring duct consisting of a space which is formed between an outer peripheral surface of the electric equipment placed on and fixed to the inner ceiling member and an inner surface of the cage ceiling body, and stores wires and cables 11 of the electric equipment, and a wiring lid 12 which covers a top face of the wiring duct and conceals the wires and cables.
