摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart characteristics that textural defects such as pores (vacancies) or abnormal phases are eliminated and such as high hardness, a high Young's modulus, a small coefficient of thermal expansion, excellent processed surface precision or excellent surface roughness, and excellent fracture toughness in addition to the characteristics to a sintered hard material mainly composed of a tungsten carbide phase. <P>SOLUTION: The fracture toughness of the tungsten carbide phase is improved by crystallizing (W,M1)<SB>2</SB>C<SB>X</SB>(wherein, 0.8&le;X<1.0) as second phase in addition to WC phase as first phase in the tungsten carbide phase. The (W,M1)<SB>2</SB>C<SB>X</SB>(wherein, 0.8&le;X<1.0) is a solid solution of W<SB>2</SB>C<SB>X</SB>(wherein, 0.8&le;X<1.0) with M1 which is one or more kinds selected from transition metal elements of groups 4a, 5a and 6a of the periodic table other than W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
