OPTICAL POWER SPLITTER FOR PASSIVE OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORK AND SELF-PROTECTED AND RESTORABLE SYSTEM USING THE OPS

An OPS(Optical Power Splitter) for a PON(Passive Optical Network) and a protective recovery system using the OPS are provided to configure a ring-shaped network by connecting a protective branch to an input end of the OPS as connecting one port of output ends of the OPS with a protective trunk to offer a protective recovery function, thereby selectively supplying the recovery function for communication fault. An operational OLT(Optical Line Terminal)(1) performs optical signal transmission through an operational trunk in case of normal operation. A protective OLT(2) performs optical signal transmission through a protective trunk in case of fault of the operational trunk or the operational OLT(1). At least one OPS(41) splits optical signals from the OLTs(1,2), and the operational trunk and the protective trunk are connected to one port of opposite input/output ends, respectively.
