PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor with a stator core stably fixable over a long period. SOLUTION: In the state in which the stator core 38 is positioned in an axial direction X1 of a motor housing 18, a screw 33 is used as a fastening member for fastening a cover member 32 to the motor housing 18. With the fastening operation, a sectionally wedge-shaped member 46 is pushed into a sectionally wedge-shaped void 45 between the inner periphery of the motor housing 18 and the outer periphery of the stator core 38. The force of pushing the sectionally wedge-shaped member 46 in the axial direction X1 of the motor housing 18 is converted into the force of fastening the outer periphery of the stator core 38 by the operation of inclined cam faces 47, 48 of the motor housing 18 and the sectionally wedge-shaped member 46.
