PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound deadening material for a shutter, which is equipped with pile yarn, and which eliminates an uncomfortable noise generated by metallic contact between a guide rail and a slat constituting a shutter curtain. SOLUTION: This sound deadening material comprises: a strip-shaped base 4 mounted on the guide rail; the pile yarn 5 which is implanted on the base along the length direction of the base 4; and a pair of flexible resin fins 6 which are positioned on both the sides of the pile yarn 5 and elongated onto the base 4, without protruding with respect to the pile yarn 5.
