<p>It is intended to provide a method of biologically disposing organic wastewater whereby the amount of a microorganism held in a sludge disposal tank, in which the amount of generated excessive sludge is reduced by the microorganism, is stabilized so that the disposal can be stably carried out, and an apparatus therefor. To a sludge disposal tank (51) for reducing the amount of sludge by a microorganism, a dispersible substrate for growing the microorganism and/or a dispersible bacterium are supplied so that the microorganism is grown in a stable state, thereby reducing the amount of the sludge. More specifically speaking, first and second biological disposal steps are conducted respectively in a first active sludge tank (21) and a second active sludge tank (31). The sludges contained in the liquids flown from these biological disposal steps are subjected to solid-liquid separation in a settling pond (41) and then the obtained sludge thus formed is supplied to a sludge disposal tank (51). Into the sludge disposal tank (51), the water to be treated, which is bypassed via a bypass channel (26) as a substrate metabolized by the bacterium, is introduced to grow the dispersible bacterium in the sludge disposal tank (51). Thus, the microorganism is stabilized and held in the sludge disposal tank (51) in a stable state and the reduction of the amount of the excessive sludge is promoted.</p> |
