PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sampling methane gas from methane hydrate deposit with high efficiency to increase permeability of the methane hydrate deposit and promote decomposition of methane hydrate by suppressing regeneration of methane hydrate and forming minute bubbles or defoaming the generated methane gas. SOLUTION: In this method for sampling methane for pressing water in the methane hydrate deposit and decomposing methane hydrate, water soluble defoaming agent is pressed in the methane hydrate deposit instead of water.
