PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing 2-alkyl-2-adamantyl (meth)acrylate with a high efficiency on an industrial scale. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing 2-methyl-2-adamantyl (meth)acrylate comprises causing a magnesium halide salt of 2-methyl-2-adamantanol to react with a (meth)acrylic acid halide, where 2-methyl-2-adamantanol and the (meth)acrylic acid halide are separately and simultaneously added dropwise in a solution to the reactor, and the dropwise addition and the reaction are carried out with continuous or intermittent withdrawal of the reaction liquid out of the reactor.
