<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a traffic accident by obtaining a relationship between a target vehicle and a vehicle around, and supporting the safety traveling of the vehicle by using an image processing technology. <P>SOLUTION: This collision risk decision system is provided with a camera 2 for acquiring image data by photographing and a measurement device 4 for deciding collision risk based on the acquired image data. The measurement device 4 recognizes a vehicle traveling on a road based on the image pickup information of the camera 2, and when a plurality of vehicles are recognized, the measurement device 4 calculates the speed of each vehicle and an inter-vehicle distance, and calculates a collision risk index based on the calculated speed and inter-vehicle distance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
