<p>An antitheft apparatus of a computer and a method thereof are provided to detect the theft and generate an alarm by checking power supplied to a port of the computer and detecting the cut-off of power. An antitheft apparatus of a computer includes a port power detecting unit(10), an operation sensing unit(20), a controlling unit(30), an alarming unit(40) and a power unit(50). The port power detecting unit is connected to a predetermined port in a mother board of the computer, and detects port power. The operation sensing unit detects predetermined operation applied to a computer body. The controlling body judges if the theft is tried or not based on a detection signal of the port power detecting unit and the operation sensing unit. The alarming unit sounds an alarm in case that the controlling unit confirms the theft. The power unit supplies power to the port power detecting unit, the operation sensing unit, the controlling unit and the alarming unit.</p> |
