NOVEL HEPTAPEPTIDE AND PROLYL ENDOPEPTIDASE INHIBITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel peptide that has the prolyl endopeptidase inhibitory action from the jellyfish collagen.

SOLUTION: Jellyfish collagen is enzymatically hydrolyzed to obtain a heptapeptide of Ile-Val-Gly-Pro-Pro-Gly-Ala having the prolylend peptidase-inhibitory activity. The heptapeptide further has excellent anti-amnesia effect in vivo and has an extremely decreased level of toxicity.
