A folding mobile radio unit wherein an internal antenna has an improved antenna performance, while exhibiting a reduced local average SAR. A case opening/closing detecting means (6) detects an opening or closing of cases (1,2). When the cases (1,2) are opened, a first antenna (4) is connected to a radio circuit (24), and the resonance of a second antenna (5) is adjusted to a first frequency band. When the cases (1,2) are closed, the resonance of the second antenna (5) is adjusted to the first and second frequency bands, and the second antenna (5) is connected to the radio circuit (24). In this way, when the cases (1,2) are opened, the antenna current can be dispersed, thereby reducing the local average SAR; when the cases (1,2) are closed, a high antenna gain can be achieved. |
