<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the elongation and contraction of an image caused by the periodical variation of rotating speed in the subscanning direction of a rotating holding means for holding a developer image. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: a rotating irradiation means for radiating a light beam while rotating in order to form the developer image in accordance with input image data; and the rotating holding means for temporarily holding the developer image which has not been transferred to recording material yet while rotating. The image forming apparatus includes a variation detection means for detecting the periodical variation of the rotating speed in the subscanning direction of the rotating holding means, and a correction amount decision means for deciding the correction amount of the rotating speed of the rotating irradiation means so as to reduce the elongation and contraction of the image on the recording material caused by the periodical variation of the rotating speed. Especially, the image forming apparatus includes a correcting means for correcting the correction amount according to the delay of follow-up ability to the target rotating speed of a driving motor in the rotating irradiation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
