PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press machine and a pressing method with which even in the case of a blank whose surface shape is formed in a projected and recessed shape, pressing can be applied by suitably preventing occurrence of a fractured area and burr and as this result, a product having the projected and recessed surface shape can be manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: A first punch 40 and a second punch 50 which are formed in accordance with the cross-sectional shape of a through-hole 31 formed in a die 30, respectively, and are arranged at both end sides of the through-hole 31 to be opposite to each other, are used, and after relatively displacing the die 30 and at least the first punch 40 for working the blank 1 from one end side of the through-hole 31, the die 30 and at least the second punch 40 are relatively displaced for working the blank 1 from the other end side of the through-hole 31. The respective punch faces 41, 51 of the first punch 40 and the second punch 50, are formed in the projected and recessed shapes fitted to the projected and recessed shape of the blank 1 matching the surface shape of the blank 1.
