PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce warm-up time and increase efficiency of heat use by limiting and heating a necessary part through simple constitution in a fixing device which heats and presses an unfixed toner image carried on a recording sheet to bond the toner image on the recording sheet by pressure. SOLUTION: A heating body 3 abuts on an inner circumferential surface of an endless fixing belt 1, and the heating body is supported by a pressure counter member 4 which is fixed and supported. A pressure roll 2 is pressed against an outer circumferential surface of the fixing belt where the pressure roll faces the heating body, so that the toner image T is heated/pressed between the fixing belt and pressure roll. The heating body 3 has a flatly-sectioned hollow tube body 31 whose inside is sealed and reduced in pressure, and an electron source 32 is supported on its inner circumferential surface across an insulating layer 33. A voltage is applied between the hollow tube body and electron source while the electron source is set as a negative polarity side, and electrons are discharged from the electron source to the inner circumferential surface of the tube body to heat the tube body.
