A backlight unit having a strip-shaped OLED(Organic Light Emitting Device) is provided to enhance a color representation property of the OLED by uniformly distributing the light inputted to a waveguide plate. A backlight unit includes a waveguide plate, an optical source, and an OLED. The strip-shaped OLED includes a first electrode layer(2), a hole injection layer(3), a hole transport layer(4), a light emitting layer(5), an electron transport layer(8), a second electrode layer(9), and a photonic crystal. The hole injection layer is formed on the first electrode layer. The hole transport layer is formed on the hole injection layer. The light emitting layer is formed on the hole transport layer. The electron transport layer is formed on the light emitting layer. The second electrode layer is formed on the electron transport layer. A microlens structure is integrated by etching a base surface of the substrate. The photonic crystal is formed by depositing an oxide inorganic film on the microlens structure. |
