PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable tracking of a tracking object in a case where the tracking object is shielded over a long time or the tracking object is moved integrally with a shielding object after it is shielded. SOLUTION: This object tracking device 1 includes a tracking processing part 4 which generates a likelihood of the tracking object while predicting an operation of the tracking object from a hypothesis based on the likelihood of the tracking object from an image fetched from a camera device 2 to perform tracking processing of the object; an abnormal state detection part 8 which detects an abnormal state of the tracking processing of the object by comparison of the likelihood of the tracking object with a predetermined threshold; and a likelihood model formation part 9 which forms, when the abnormal state is detected, a likelihood model of another tracking object different from the tracking object. Accordingly, in the event of failure of tracking, the tracking can be continued by transferring the tracking object from the original object to the shielding object, and recognizing the shielding object as a temporary tracking object.
