<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gearing device and an electric power steering device provided therewith which can perform a sufficient lubrication over a wide range of operating conditions. <P>SOLUTION: Projections 58, 59, which are extended in a direction crossing the peripheral direction of a driven gear 24, are provided on one side 32 of the driven gear 24 of a reduction gear and on one side 57 of a first housing 25a reverse to the one side 32 respectively. From the view along the axial direction S, the projection 58 of the driven gear 24 and the projection 59 of the first housing 25a are partially made reverse to the axial direction S with the rotation of the driven gear 24, thus intersecting parts 67a, 67b are formed which can retain a lubricant L between each other.
