PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform exact press fit judgement by setting check points on the basis of an ending position of press fit, and eliminating the incorrectness in judgement due to variations of workpiece members. SOLUTION: The method is for judging the quality of press fit when a workpiece member is fitted in a member to be press fitted having a press-cut end by a linear driving plunger. The thrust information and positional information of the plunger are acquired in a predetermined stroke range RM when press-fitting the workpiece member by the plunger. Multiple positions P1-P6 which are traced back only multiple set distance are set as check points, respectively, on the basis of the ending position LLQ of press fit, so as to judge the quality of press fit by a fact whether the thrust information at the check point is within the predetermined range set in the respective check point.
