A method for allocating FA(Frequency Assignment) in an asynchronous mobile communication system is provided to increase the efficiency of resource allocation in a BS(Base Station) by allocating the FA of a HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) call and a non HSDPA call, and to enhance a data transmission speed. A method for allocating FA(Frequency Assignment) in an asynchronous mobile communication system comprises the following several steps. If a non HSDPA call is set(S101), an RNC(Radio Network Controller) checks whether the FA to which a call is set up, is a mixed type FA which makes it possible to allocate both the non HSDPA call and the HSDPA call(S103). If not in the step S103, the RNC checks the FA is dedicated for the non HSDPA call(S105). If not in the step S105, the RNC performs an allocation change to either the FA which supports only the non HSDPA call or the mixed type FA which can allocate both the HSDPA call and the non HSDPA call(S107). The RNC checks whether an additional bearer is set up(S109). If so in the S109, the RNC sets up the additional bearer to the FA allocated in the step S107(S111). If the FA is the mixed type FA which makes it possible to allocate both the non HSDPA call and the HSDPA call in the step S103, the RNC maintains a currently allocated DA(S113) and performs the step S109.
|
