PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily accomplish addition/change of pattern data from the outside, to prevent shipping of a variety of display devices and to accomplish exchange of the display devices in a short time. SOLUTION: The control device for the elevator is constituted by a main control device 1 having an article inherent data storage memory 12 and an operation control processing part 11; and the display device 2. The display device 2 includes: a display/voice guide pattern storage memory 26 for storing display/voice guide pattern data capable of adding/changing from the outside; and a display/voice guide pattern storage memory 22 for article for storing a display/voice guide pattern required accompanying actual operation control. Based on instruction from the main control device 1, the pattern data of the added/changed display/voice guide pattern storage memory 26 are optimally arranged, are reflected on the display/voice guide pattern storage memory 22 for article, and performs display/voice outputting at operation control.
