Two or more products (4, 26, 27) are temporarily held in a buffer before being delivered to a filling pipe (30). Buffering is carried out by stacking products inside the pipe. The method comprises forming a tube of film material by guiding it around the filling pipe, introducing the products to be packaged into the tube via the pipe and sealing the tube at a point above the products inside it and detaching the sealed tube from the rest of the film material.
