PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device having a small-sized constant voltage circuit of quick response, capable of reducing an ON-resistance of an output transistor to reduce a difference between input and output voltages in the constant voltage circuit, capable of dispensing with use of a transistor of low threshold value voltage, and capable of precluding a characteristic such as a ripple removing rate from getting worse. SOLUTION: A voltage varied from the input voltage Vi to a negative voltage Vss supplied from a negative voltage generation circuit 3 is output from an output end of an error amplifying circuit 12, a voltage difference between the input voltage Vi and the negative voltage Vss is set to be brought into a voltage lower a little than the maximum absolute rated value of a voltage between gate-source in an output transistor M1, and the output transistor M1 is thereby driven without damaging the output transistor M1 to bring the ON-resistance near to the minimum.
