PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic thin-film transistor which can be manufactured in simple processes, has high carrier mobility, exhibits transistor characteristics with large on/off ratio, and is stable with less secular change. SOLUTION: In the organic thin-film transistor with an organic semiconductor layer, the organic semiconductor layer contains a polymer having a repetitive unit expressed by a general formula (I) as a main component. In this case, in the formula, Y and Ar denote a divalent group of a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic heterocycle, Y<SB>1</SB>denotes a divalent group of a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocycle, and R denotes a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group.
