In apparatus for pelleting a mixture of water and carbon black or other pulverulent material a rotatable shaft having a plurality of radially extending and uniformly spaced agitator pins' 16, is concentrically mounted within an elongate tubular housing which has an adherent resilient lining of plastics or rubber. The pins may be arranged to form a helical row on the shaft and may be coated at their ends with an abrasion-resistant coating 26. The ends may taper at an angle of 45 degrees, the direction of rotation being such that the tapered face trails. The clearance between the pins and the liner is from 0À0625 to 0À25 inches. The lining material may be a butadiene copolymer or a chloroprene rubber.</p> |
