<p>A reproduction control unit (5) acquires the identification information (extension) of compressed encoded data stored in a recording medium (1) or acquires input information describing a decoding format from the outside. If decoding according to the decoding format corresponding to the acquired identification information or the input information has not been normally performed, the decoding is tried while sequentially changing the format to other possible decoding formats, and the reproducing is performed according to the decoding format by which the decoding has been successfully performed.</p> |
