PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing material paper of high quality white paperboard having functionality, and to provide a cigarette box material paper using the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing material paper of high quality white hardboard, which has functionality for radiating far infrared rays from the material paper comprises a preparation process for dissolving pulp in water and solidifying the dissolved pulp, a paper-making process 1 for making paper, the first drying process for coating a far infrared ray chemical on one side of the material paper made in the paper-making process 1 and then drying the coated chemical, the second drying process for coating the far infrared ray chemical on the other side of the material paper passed through the first drying process and then drying the coated material paper, the third coating process for further coating a high quality coating liquid on the material paper passed through the second drying process, the third drying process for drying the material paper passed through the third coating process, and the paper-making process 2 for finishing the material paper passed through the third drying process into paper.
