PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier rib for a flat display free from the occurrence of problems such as tip part chipping due to projecting and recessed part of a tip part of the barrier rib or defective sintering in the formation of the barrier rib for the high precision high aspect ratio flat display. SOLUTION: The inorganic material paste contains an inorganic component and an organic component. The inorganic component contains glass frit L<SB>1</SB>having a softening point expressed by Ts<SB>L1</SB>(°C) and an average particle diameter expressed by D<SB>L1</SB>, glass frit L<SB>2</SB>having a softening point expressed by Ts<SB>L2</SB>(°C) and an average particle diameter expressed by D<SB>L2</SB>and inorganic powder H having an average particle diameter expressed by D<SB>H</SB>and no softening point of≤600°C wherein a volume concentration of the glass frit L<SB>1</SB>to total inorganic component in the inorganic material paste is V<SB>L1</SB>(%), a volume concentration of the inorganic powder H to total inorganic component in the inorganic material paste is V<SB>H</SB>(%) and the softening temperature, the average particle diameter and the volume concentration of the inorganic component satisfies following relation (1)-(3), where relation (1) is Ts<SB>L1</SB>≤Ts<SB>L2</SB>≤600, relation (2) is D<SB>L1</SB>≤D<SB>H</SB><D<SB>L2</SB>and relation (3) is V<SB>H</SB>≤V<SB>L1</SB>.
