<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control current at multi-steps (continuously in extreme case) without increasing cost or a mounting area, and also to control a current easily even for a general-purpose power supply IC. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: a reference voltage unit 1 for generating a reference voltage; a detecting unit 3 for detecting an output current of a predetermined load 2, performing current/voltage conversion, and generating a variable detection voltage as an output; a varying unit 4 for generating a variable detection voltage; and a control unit 5 for comparing the reference voltage and the variable detection voltage and performing constant current control.
