PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spectacles which reduce distortion of an image at a border part and is tolerant of an external shock in case of a fall etc. SOLUTION: The spectacles includes a variable optical characteristic optical element 4 of a solid crystal film and a means of applying vibration of the variable optical characteristic optical element 4 from outside on one transmissive base body supporting a spectacle frame 1, and optical characteristics are varied by applying the external vibration to vary the focal length.
