PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein a heating roller and a pressure roller have long lives by suppressing temperature rises of heating roller ends of a fixing means of the image forming apparatus etc., while continuous paper is passing. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is equipped with: a paper conveyance section 59 which conveys paper P; an image formation section 10 which forms a toner image visualized by using toner, based upon input image information on the conveyed paper P; and a fixing unit 30 which fuses and fixes the unfixed toner image formed on the paper P by the heating roller 31 and pressure roller 32, wherein the pressure roller 32 is equipped with an arbor member 32a constituting an arbor of the pressure roller 32 and an elastic member 32b coating an outer periphery of the arbor member 32a, and the heat capacity in a center portion 32c in a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the paper P is smaller than that at both ends of the pressure roller 32c.
