An order-picking system includes a picking cart (105) having a radio frequency (RF) antenna (115) arranged above an object- stacking surface (171) of the picking cart, and a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag reader (110) coupled to the RF antenna. The RFID tag reader is configured to identify a first RFID tag (120) attached to a first tagged object (125) placed on the picking car and further configured to eliminate identification of a second RFID tag (140) attached to a second tagged object (145) located outsid a perimeter of the object-stacking surface of the picking cart.
